Marker location: 700 block of St. Louis Street. Gonzales Marker text: This block of the Inner Town was designated in 1825 as a cemetery. Traditionally the burial ground for Nicholas Peck, a soldier of San Jacinto; Daniel Davis, a soldier in Mier Expedition, and his wife, Elizabeth, along with other early-day residents. State Historical Survey Committee - 1966 (Local lore suggests that the graves were moved to the City Cemetery on North College Street and placed in a mass grave)
